We are thrilled to announce that José Roberto Gama de Oliveira, famously known as Bebeto, has joined O Grande Jogo as the mentor for the second team. Bebeto's remarkable career and extensive experience make him an invaluable addition to our show, providing our athletes with the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the sport.
Bebeto's football journey began in 1983, and he quickly made a name for himself with his exceptional skills and dedication to the game. Throughout his career, he played for several top clubs, including Vitória, Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, and Botafogo in Brazil; Deportivo La Coruña and Sevilla in Spain; Toros Neza in Mexico; and Kashima Antlers in Japan.
Bebeto's impact on the international stage is equally impressive. He debuted for the Brazilian national team in 1985 and represented his country in the 1990, 1994, and 1998 World Cups. His most notable achievement came in 1994 when he played a crucial role in helping Brazil secure the World Cup title.
In addition to his World Cup victory, Bebeto's list of achievements includes being the top scorer of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship in 1988 and 1989, being named the Best Player of the Copa America in 1989, and being the top scorer of the Spanish League in 1993. These accolades highlight his talent, consistency, and impact on the game.
